About the Company

As part of continued expansion and development an opportunity has arisen for an electrical design engineer at Associate or Principal level with expertise in in EHV, generation equipment and UPS plant.


You will be an enthusiastic and dynamic engineer with excellent design, communication, technical, and sustainability skills who enjoys working collaboratively in multi-professional design teams

About the Role

  • As an integral member of the business you will support the team in developing designs for electrical distribution systems from EHV, HV, MV to Low Voltage incorporating high voltage equipment, generation equipment, UPS plant, low voltage switchgear and power control and monitoring systems

  • The role will include supporting meetings with the client, contractors, and other designers. Site visits will also be required to monitor whether the construction is in accordance with the design and to resolve site queries.

  • Leading the spatial and technical co-ordination of the building services and their integration into the building design.

  • Attending meetings and communicating with clients to establish their needs.

  • Supporting senior management in business and technical development.

  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team and assist with their professional development.

  • Supervising and coordinating the work of others.

  • Communicating and liaising with clients and managing client meetings as required.

  • Produce detailed and performance specification for the discipline subject to review by colleagues prior to issue.

  • Produce detailed equipment and carry out detailed calculations.

  • System modelling.

  • Carrying out single point of failure analysis studies on client installations.

  • Attend factory acceptance and on-site commissioning sessions as necessary.

Requirements

  • Chartered Engineer status or have obtained the necessary qualifications (CIBSE / IET Engineering Council accredited honours degree or specific experience) and be progressing your experience to the level that will lead to CEng status.

  • A proven track record of developing and leading electrical teams to support the delivery of complex projects in building services.

  • Be able to work closely with other team members in the development of the facilities in alignment with proven tier principles and Client expectations.

  • Able to work using your own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of their discipline or have specific specialist experience applicable to the role.

  • Manage multiple projects in a clear concise and co-ordinated manor.

  • Have a strong desire for career progression allied to improving skills and professional development.
